Guwahati: Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) on Thursday directed the Falcon Festival celebration Committee, Haflong, to appear before the Civic Agency within three days for violating the rules by displaying a banner in Firnover which was only inaugurated in a dispartment, near the Assam Secretariat.
The Civic’s body has taken action after sharp criticism because of its inability to keep the city net from spitter and illegal paste or poster hanging or banners in public places that violate the prevention of Guwahati from Property Defacement Law, 2006.
GMC branch enforcement removing a festival banner, which will be held on November 19 and 20 at Umrangso in Assam Dima Melo, from the flyover.
“The defaCement is contrary to the notification that has recently been issued by the GMC and the Committee concerned will report to the responsible collector, GMC within three days why the public property defafter is done even though it is repeated,” the statement stated.
