Guwahati: Special class X exams, for those who are not satisfied with statistical formula based evaluations, will begin on Friday.
More than 22,000 students appear for the exam.
However, following the orders of the Gautati High Court, Secondary Education Council, Assam (SEMA) also contemplated to begin the process of conducting compartment checks for around 10,000-12,000 students.
The High Court, while hearing a request to hold a compartment examination for students who failed in a statistical formula-based evaluation by Seba, giving freedom to students to approach the board appear again in the subjects where they failed.
The court hopes SBA will sympatheticly consider it.
Secretary Seba Suranjana Senapati said the council, in accordance with its policy, “has held a compartmental examination in the past, only in connection with failed students”.
According to the policy, the compartment examination was held in the past for candidates who could not come out with the HSLC / AHM exam but failed maximally in three subjects and obtained a minimum of 170 signs on aggregate.
They qualified to appear in the compartment examination only once on one occasion.
Candidates who appear in the compartment examination must secure 30% and the above signs in the subjects appear and the total value must be 180 to exit.
