GZB will not charge for Ayushman health cards

Ghaziabad: The Ministry of Health plans to increase the number of hospitals affiliated with the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which aims to provide health insurance to beneficiaries from weaker people, from 33 to more than 100, in the coming days in Ghaziabad.
Among 33 facilities are seven of the government.
Under the scheme, the beneficiary family is given free care up to RS 5 lakh every year.
To utilize facilities, each family member beneficiary needs to have a gold card.
Because only 17% of the targeted receivers have received insurance policies so far, the department has decided to issue a gold card that is free of costs for people.
The Ghaziabad Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr.
Bhavtosh Sankhdhar, said that to alleviate the process, the card will be given to all Jan Suvidha Kendras (CSCS).
“The beneficiaries that have not received the Ayushman card must visit the center of their nearby public ease and propose.
For this, he must carry aadhaar card with them.” CMO added that no hospitals affiliated with the scheme can reject treatment to the Ayushman card holder.
If there are cases like that, strict actions will be taken against the wrong hospital.
Additional Chief Medical Officer Dr.
Sunil Tyagi, Nodal Officer Ayushman Bharat Scheme, told TI that a special Fortnight campaign was being held until August 9 where free gold cards were made.
Previously, for the Ayushman card, the recipient had to pay Rs 30.
Ghaziabad was ranked lowest among the six Meerut division districts for the publication of the Ayushman Bharat Gold Card.
Against the target of issuing cards 7.40 lakh, the Ministry of Health just issued 1.24 lakh so far, reaching 17% of the target.
