The previous number was 2,189 on Wednesday.
The agency said via Twitter that 12,268 people were injured and nearly 53,000 homes were destroyed by the August 14 earthquake.
The new toll comes during developing assistance operations _ Aid agency based in the US, Samaritan Wallet opened a field hospital on Saturday – but the authorities struggled with security at distribution points.
The gangs have hijacked trucks and crowds that have been desperate for food.
In the stubborn city of Les Cayes, meanwhile, some attended outside church services on Sundays because the safeguards had been severely damaged by the earthquake, which was centered on the southwestern Peninsula of the country.
