Port-au-Prince: President of Haitian Jovenel Moise was killed after a group of unknown people attacked his personal residence, the country’s temporary prime minister said in a statement Wednesday.
Moise’s wife, the first woman of Martine Moise, was hospitalized, said Interim Premier Claude Joseph.
Joseph cursed what he called “hatred, inhuman and savage acts,” adding that Haiti’s national police and other authorities have a situation in a controlled Caribbean country.
The final killing on Tuesday came amid deepening of political and economic stability and a gang violence surge.
