Half-finished session, but many students have not received a textbook

Gurgaon: For last year, Priya (name changed), a 6th grade student at a government school in Patudi, has learned without textbooks.
He is among many students in the city who failed to find partners in the book exchange program launched by the state as a stop-gap setting to overcome the problem of non-availability of textbooks in government schools throughout Haryana.
“I did not accept any book last year and this year.
The teacher said that the government had not released books.
So, they dictate notes and we rely on them for our study.
Sometimes, the teacher sends a picture of the page from their books and I study From that, “said 65,000 students from class 65,000 students from class 1 to 8 in the city have learned without books since the Pandemic of Covid-19 broke out last year.
With half of the current academic session (2021-22), most of these students in government schools are also awaiting the transfer of direct benefits (DBT) announced by the previous state education department.
In June this year, the Minister of Education Kanwar Pal has stated the inability of the Ministry of Education to provide textbooks free of charge to grade 1 to 8 students – as the mandate under the Education Act (RTE) – due to delays in the tender process and covid obstacles -19 to get book printing.
To compensate for the unavailability of books, the Minister has announced that the government will directly transfer a number of Rs 250 each to students from class 1 to 5 and RS 400 each to students from grade 6 to 8.
The number will be credited to the student bank account Through direct benefit transfers.
During the assembly session in August, PAL has reaffirmed its commitment.
While the Ministry of Education claimed that funds were transferred to the majority of students last week, school teachers and parents, TOI spoke to, saying otherwise.
“I have two children I studied at the Kadipur School and none of them had received books or money.
Last year too, my children learned without textbooks.
In fact, they have not received money to eat midday or get cooked food At school even when school has begun to call students, “Kumar said, parents, parents said.
The Ministry of Education says the transfer of funds is taking place and they are preparing the database of students who have been abandoned.
“No need to panic.
Every child will get the money promised by the government.
Because some data incompatibility, some students have not received money.
We make a list of all the students and will transfer money to them after dealing with problems.
In addition, we have started the bank concept Last year’s book when the textbook printing stopped.
We continued this year, too.
It cannot be reached to their headmaster for the same thing, “said an official of the district education department.
However, teachers and principals have shown that because there are large currents of students in government schools, uploading bank accounts and other details is still ongoing.
They also claim that some banks do not work together to open a bank account for students.
DUSHYANT THAKRAN, Haryana Prathmik District Head Shikshak Sangh, “because the unprecedented surge in acceptance this year, there is a lot of student data to be processed and uploaded on MIS.
In many cases, there is serious inconsistency in the data and it is one of the obstacles for DBT.
In addition, the receipt process remains incomplete unless the Bank opens a zero-balance account.
This year, the bank does not work together.
A large number of students are still without a bank account.
Unless this is repaired, money transfer will only be an eye wasch and many will remain excluded.
