New Delhi: Half of the adult population of countries that qualify for Covid vaccines have received at least one dose, which includes 99% coverage among health care workers and 100% frontline workers for the first dose.
A little more than 60% of more than 60 populations have also been borne by at least the first dose of vaccines.
The average daily vaccination during August has so far increased to 52.16 lakh doses of 43.41 lakh and 39.38 lakh in July and June each.
The government said the situation of the vaccine supply appeared satisfactory as in recent weeks there has been no report from the state of the vaccine shortage.
“In the past three weeks, a balanced dose of vaccines that are calculated in this country have never gone under 2.5 crores,” Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said, underlining that the center took stock the supply situation and availability of the state and UTS every morning.
Bhushan also highlighted that the center had urged the state to increase vaccination, especially the coverage of the second dose of Jab, with a better availability of vaccines.
He said the real concern remained the incidence of high diseases in countries such as Kerala which raises concerns that a number of vulnerable people can see the emergence of new mutant tensions.
While only 14.6% of the 94 adult populations crore was fully vaccinated so far, 83% of health service workers and 79% of frontline workers who qualified for the second shot have been covered with doses, official data shows.
Vaccine equipment also tends to increase further than October because Zydus Cadila has indicated the government that the DNA-based anti-covid Jab, Zycov-D, will be available from the first week of October.
The government still negotiated with the company about the requirements and prices of procurement, said Bhushan.
While Zycov-D has been authorized for emergency use for use throughout 12 years, the final decision regarding the vaccination of children 12-18 years will be based on the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization Recommendations, which have not been submitted to the Ministry of Health.
