Coimbatore: After the eighth mass vaccination drive was held on Sunday, 49.8% of the eligible population in the district had been inoculated with a dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
Of the 78,881 people who were vaccinated on that day, 68,545 received their second dose.

With this, 13.90 Lakh people have received a second dose, namely 49.8% of the eligible population.
Of the 38 lakh people in Coimbatore, 27.9 lakh, who was above the age of 18, qualified for vaccination.
With 25.08 Lakh people who got their first dose 10,336 on Sundays 89.9% had received the first dose.
The aim is to reach 100% of the first dose vaccination, Deputy Deputy Director of Health Services P Ardaa.
