After the South Korean Thriller film, Squid’s game became a super success throughout the world, the Distopia web series had been accused of glorifying violence.
A school district in the state of New York said Thursday it had banned children from wearing Halloween costumes from Ott Sensation “Squid games” because their concerns might glorify violence.
Thriller displays hundreds of individuals who lack money complaining with each other in traditional children’s games.

The Fayetteville-Manlius school district, around 250 miles (400 kilometers) north of New York City, wrote to parents who said the clothes from the show, which included masks and green sports clothes and pink jumpsuit, would not be accepted in six schools.
“The principal we want to make sure our family is aware that it will be inappropriate for students to be used to the Halloween costume school from this performance because of the potential message of violence equipped with costumes,” said Superintendent Craig Tice district in a statement sent by email to AFP.
He said that the school guidelines mean “costumes should not be too bleeding or frightening so as not to scare our young students.”
Tice added that some students have “imitated” the game of the series.
District oversees three elementary schools for children aged 5 to 10 years.
He said the district hopes parents and guardians will “strengthen school messages that games related to violent behavior are not suitable for recess.”
“Squid game” became Netflix’s biggest event, watched by 142 million households in four weeks after his release in mid-September.
