New Delhi: Twitter on Wednesday told the Delhi High Court that he had locked for a while Congressman Rahul Gandhi and removed the post where he shared a photo of a parent of a nine-year-old girl who was suspected of being raped and killed in Delhi southwest.
The microblogging site says that the tweet has been removed because it was found to violate the platform policy.
“The account has been locked and tweet is not available,” said Advocate Sajan Poovayya, in response to the petition seeking registration of FIR against Gandhi for allegedly revealing the identity of the victim by posting photos with his parents on Twitter.
Chairman of the Judge DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh expressed satisfaction with the actions of “fast” taken by Twitter before court intervention.
It also refused to issue a notification at this stage on the request submitted by one Makard Suresh Mhadcekar and asked the parties to “save 1-2 pages prepared” when taking problems on September 27.
HC took a dim view of the pressure of the Petitioner’s advice to demand a twitter file as a written statement because he denied the stand platform.
“If this is an attitude, we don’t issue notices,” he said.
