Bengaluru: National Aerospace Laboratory (Nal) said that Hansa’s new generation (Hansa-NG), a two-seat aircraft designed and developed by him, managed to make his first runaway 20 minutes on Friday.
“The plane departed from the airport at 2.09 a.m.
and flew at an altitude of 4,000 feet and gained a speed of 80 knots before landing,” said Nal.
The Captain Pilot Test Amit Dahiya, which tested the plane, described the first flight as a “textbook mission” where all parameters were normal.
“The unique feature of Hansa-NG is a glass cockpit with the comfort of the cabin, a digitally controlled engine is highly efficient, the flap that is electrically operated, long durability, low acquisition and operating costs,” said Nal.
Nal has received 72 letter of intention (Lois) from various flying clubs and airplanes, Nal said, it will be certified in the next four months after the induction process will begin.
Friday flights were monitored in telemetry by senior officers and scientists from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and military air center and certification (Cemillac).
Shekhar C Mande, Secretary, DSIR (Scientific and Industrial Research Department), where NAL operates, said private players have been identified for aircraft series production.
As reported by the previous toi, Hansa-NA was launched on March 31, 2021, and at that time, Nal had 30 lois from the flying club for the purchase of new aircraft.
Hansa-ng is an enhanced version of Hansa, who saw the first flight in 1993, and was certified in 2000.
Between 2000 and 2007, Nal developed 12 Hansa aircraft sent to the flying club throughout India through DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) .
Since it entered more than 4,000 flying hours with IIT-Kanpur still flying a plane.
This center approved Hansa-3 on Hansa-3 Hansa-3 Retro-3 2018 and Nal with a glass cockpit and made it certified by DGCA.
