Coimbatore: V Jabez, a class V student, was welcomed by his teacher with chocolate and flowers when he reached the corporate elementary school in Ramasamy Nagar in Kavundampalayam after a 19-month gap on Monday.
He felt uncomfortable wearing a mask at all times, Jabez was more than happy to meet his friends after a long time.
“I wasn’t even asked to take a book from the bag.

I want to go back to school the next day,” he told Toi.
No other school also shared a similar story, thanks to the school authority, which adopted new ways to make their visits memorable and help them adjust to the school atmosphere.

The teacher said they wanted to create a pleasant atmosphere for children.
All schools are decorated with balloons and color paper to make it feel like a birthday celebration.
