‘Harassed’ by lenders, Bizman in Meerut killed himself

MEERUT: City-based businessman Yogendra Chaudhary, 60, died after shooting himself at the temple in his car near the SSP office in Meerut on Friday.
His family claimed that he left several suicide notes – one in the car, one at home, and the other in the email and whatsapp.
But Asp Sooraj Rai said “No suicide notes found” from the place or from other places.
Six people have been ordered under the IPC part 306 (suicide reduction) on Saturday.
Yogendra’s brother, Deepak, said he was running an electrical shop at Pl Sharma Road.
He suffered from depression because he faced financial losses and had reached debt.
“Everything gets worse after a pandemic because he takes a loan with a high interest rate to run the family and pay the cost of his daughter, which pursues CA.” He claimed that Moneylender harassed Yogendra despite paying interest on time.
They even threatened to kidnap her daughter if the principal was not paid on time.
“They pressured my brother to hand over his home to investors.
He can’t stand this harassment and commit suicide,” Deepak said.
They came on Saturday again, to threaten a grieving family to pay or face a terrible consequence, he added.
