New Delhi: Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Tuesday expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for conducting rescue operations from Afghanistan and said that the government continued to come into contact with the people left there.
The Union Minister speaks at the airport after receiving three swaroop from Sri Teacher Granth Sahib brought from Kabul.
“I want to start thanks to the prime minister who allows to carry out this rescue operation to bring our brothers who are difficult there (Afghanistan),” said Puri.
He said the arrangement was also being carried out for the remaining people and the government had a constant contact with them.
“I want to praise the external ministry, Minister of External Affairs (EAM) S Jaishankar and Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan for implementing this,” Puri added.
He further said all three swaroop from Sri Teacher Granth Sahib had undergone a Covid-19 test.
“Because the Covid-19 situation applies, they have undergone Covid-19 tests and after the warm welcome results await them.
BJP workers have gathered here in large quantities to greet them,” said Minister of Union.
“We always have a tradition of accepting our brothers, especially those who are difficult in that environment, today what happens is that manifestation,” he added.
Previously in tweet, he said, “blessed to receive & pay respect for the three Holy Swaroop Sri Teacher Granth Sahib Ji from Kabul to Delhi a moment ago.” President Delhi Sikh Management Management Manager Singh Sansa was also present on that occasion.
Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Committee (DSGMC) Head and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Manjinder S Sirsa has earlier in the morning, has notified in the tweet that Indian air flights with 78 people include 53 Sikh and Hindus who are citizens of Afghanistan and Three Swaroop Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji will reach Delhi from Dushanbe.
These people were flown yesterday to Dushanbe from Kabul on the Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft.
Three Sri Teachers Granth Sahib will be taken in the procession to the Arjan Dev Ji Gurdwara teacher in the new Mahavir Nagar area in Delhi.
