New Delhi: Yati Narsingandan religious leader, accused of inflammatory speech in ‘Dharma Sansad’ recently in Haridwar, has been arrested.
This was the second arrest in this case, after Waseem Rizvi, who was arrested last Thursday.
Yati Narsingandand, the controversial priest of the Dasna Temple in Ghaziabad, was among the organizers of the event in Haridwar.
He is often in news for provocative statements to certain communities.
Rizvi, who converted into Hinduism and now called himself Jitendra Tyagi, is the first arrest in this case.
A former Chairman of the Central Shioa Waqf Board, Rizvi was ordered to promote hostility with religious reasons.
Yati Narsinghanand’s name was then added to the police police, along with Sagar Sindhu Maharaj.
The Uttarakhand government previously formed 5 sitting members to investigate allegations of hatred speech submitted at the hearing of ‘Dharma Sansad’ in Haridwar between December 17-19.
Some religious leaders, including many of the ‘Akharas’ attended the event and allegedly delivered a speech, targeting the Miniroty community.
The Uttarakhand government has been under extraordinary pressure to take action against those who have delivered a speech at the event.
Even the Supreme Court has attracted the state government on Wednesday because it did not act against the defendant even after days.
