MEERUT: The small town of Garh Mukteshwar in Hapur District, around 119 km from Delhi, is likely to host Kanwar Pilgrims if the government rises well to allow Yatra.
With Haridwar beyond the boundary after the Uttarakhand government said pilgrimage for this year to quote a threat from Pandemi, Garh Mukteshwar slowly emerged as an alternative destination for Shiva worshipers.
The upper government, who previously asked Uttarakhand to let pilgrims passed on the way to Haridwar, from where they collected water from Ganga, had been swed all who participated in Yatra to bring the Covid-19 negative certificate.
Yatra is likely to start from July 25 unless there is a change of plan.
Apart from above, Kanwariyas from Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and even Himachal participated in Yatra.
Administration, after contemplating some alternatives, has focused on the ancient Zh Mukteshwar city that accommodates pilgrims throughout the year but not on a large scale.
Ganga River and NH-24 Criss-Cross City.
Commissioner of the Meerut division, Surender Singh, said, “We are ready for Yatra and have started preparations for the security and overall management.
Now Uttarakhand has canceled it, we must find another goal from which Kanwar pilgrims can take Ganga water.
For example, worshipers in the East bring Holy water from Prayagraj and Varanasi.
In the West, one site can become Garh Mukteshwar in Hapur.
But our option is open and we work in this direction.
“Hapur District Judge Anuj Singh said that the government would be able to hold Kanwar Yatra in the city Because the number will be less at this time because of the Covid-19 situation.
“It’s likely to use Garh Mukteshwar Ghats for Kanwar pilgrimage being explored as a religious exhibition going on throughout the year here.
One to two Lakh pilgrims regularly visited the city for various welds.
It was true that Kanwar Yatra was a big event, but because our pandemics did not expect a big meeting , “DM said.
Asked about the steps to be taken to ensure that pilgrims follow the Pandemic Protocol, especially in the face of a towering third wave, Commissioner Singh said, “The Ministry of Health will have a major role to be played in this matter.
The direction has been given to strictly observe the Covid protocol -19.
They will install a table on the Kanwar route and in temples.
This table will be equipped with cleaners, masks, thermal screening facilities and Covid-19 testing.
