Chandigarh: Head of Minister Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday pulled out the ‘tit-for-tat’ comment which was controversial, by saying ‘misinterpreted’ and he did not have bad intentions to anyone.
CM also said he would not attend the aggarwal community program in Kaithal because farmers objected to his visit.
Khattar had made a comment at the BJP Kisan Morcha meeting, a video that appeared on social media, with farmers’ bodies alleged that he told party supporters to ‘pick up sticks’ towards farmers who protested central agricultural law.
Apparently referring to agitation, Khattar said, “a group form consisting of 500, 700, 1,000 farmers and made them volunteer.

Interesting his statement on Friday, Khattar said it was published that he suggested “taking a stick”.
The statement was “misinterpreted”, he told reporters in Panchkula after paying respect at Mansa Devi’s temple on the occasion of Navratras.
The comment has been made in the “defense context” and does not come out of bad intentions to anyone, Khattar said.
“I want to tell my brothers who are injured that I took back my statement,” Khattar said, who was accompanied by speakers Gian Chand Gupta.
CM further said he did not want to violate peace or law and matter in the state.
“Everyone has the right to protest in a peaceful way but the only thing that does not have to cross the boundary.
There is nothing to be harmed, the vehicle should not be damaged,” he said.
Khattar also said he would not attend the aggarwal community program in Kaithal because farmers said they would oppose his visit.
The farmers who protested said they did not mind if a BJP leader from the community attended the event, said CM.
“Speaker Gian Chand Gupta will attend the event on my behalf,” he said.
Khattar also said the government had taken pro-farmer initiatives.
Referring to reports of plant damage due to the recent shower in some parts Haryana, Khattar said the special “Girdwari” had been ordered to assess the level of damage.
