Gurgaon: Chairman of Manohar Minister Lal Khattar on Monday launched the city’s first electric electric zone, which will include Cyber City, Golf Course Road, IFFCO Chowk, downtown Huda and other leading places.
He also marked 600 e-rickshaws as part of the project from the Galleria market.
The project, named Parivartan, will replace 12,000 diesel cars and gasoline gradually.
Officials say Diesel and CNG Autos will not be permitted in the e-rick zone, but cars and personal buses can run as usual.
“We have started the electric tricycle zone in one part of the city to start.
We will gradually replace 12,000 diesel cars and gasoline in Gurgaon.
The owner will automatically be given loans from the bank and MCG will help them get e-rickshaw.
The corporation will also provide subsidies The amount of RS 30,000 to those who will replace their cars with e-rickshaw, “Khattar said when it produced three-wheeled vehicles with a battery.
Shuttle service will be available for and from various points in the electric vehicle zone.
The charging station will also be arranged for e-Bects at regular intervals.
“Rates for individual rises have been set at Rs 5 per km.
However, we have not yet decided on the tariff for a joint trip.
This problem will be immediately taken at a meeting among MCG officials, RTA (regional transportation authorities) and concession holders,” said an official MCG .
Officials said concession holders had to build a waiting area at the e-rickshaw stand and set the charging station too.
However, the Haryana Automatic Association, however, raised an objection to the decision to replace a diesel car with e-becak, claiming it would only support several private companies.
“We are unsure about the quality of e-bect obtained through these companies.
The government takes the livelihood source of the owner of Diesel and CNG,” said Yogesh Sharma, Secretary General of the State Haryana Auto Chalak Sangh.
