Haryana DGP Order Revamp of SCRB

Chandigarh: Haryana Director General of Police (DGP), P K Agrawal asked police officers to expand the scope of the State Crime Record Bureau further with the introduction of patterns and trend analysis.
DGP, who led the meeting to review the function of the State Crime Record Bureau at the police headquarters, said that crime records played an important role in the police strategy for the prevention and detection of crime.
Praising officials to do heavy work collection and share data, it also urges them to utilize new competencies in database management and provide information that can be used for surveillance formation and field units.
During the meeting, the officers discussed the functioning of different SCRB wings and discussing steps to improve the ability of the Bureau.
The meeting was attended by the Director of SCRB Haryana O P Singh and other police officers.
Carved as an independent entity from CID in 1987, Bureau fingerprint branch maintained a fingerprint database of arrest and convicted in the state.
By checking and comparing the fingerprints they receive in civil and criminal cases of all states, he has helped solve thousands of cases from the start.
The current focus is on the latest information technology infusion to speed up the process and increase loyalty.
Towards this goal, the national automatic fingerprint recognition system is being operationalized in 64 locations throughout the state in collaboration with the National Crime Record Bureau.
“We will take advantage of expertise in database management, pattern recognition and trend analysis with the aim of distinguishing the performance area and identifying patterns and trends of crime that can be followed up so that the formation of supervision and field units can prioritize resource allocations objectively,” said a spokesman for the state crime .
