New Delhi: Haryana government on Monday snapped internet service to 7 September midnight in Karnal District Kisan Mahapanchayat considering calls for “maintaining law and order”.
“Given the call Kisan Mahapanchayat in Karnal district, instructions have been given to suspend the Internet service from 12:30 pm to 2359 hours on 7 September to maintain law and order,” the state government said in a statement.
Nishant Kumar Yadav, DM, Karnal said officials would not let the block highways and mini secretariat Gherao tomorrow.
“We held talks with the farmers.
Their request is not justified.
No compensation will be given to offenders and no action will be taken against our officials,” he said.
Haryana Chief Bharatiya Kisan Union Charuni Gurnam Singh said, “There is no outcome of the meeting with the Admin Karnal.
We will continue with our Panchayat”.
Meanwhile, the district administration has issued orders under Section 144 coating CRPC, prohibiting the assembly of five or more, and a traffic advisory to transfer the planned route.
According to a police advisor Haryana, the main national highway No 44 (Ambala-delhi) can see some traffic disruption in Karnal district on Tuesday.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body garments protesting farmers agricultural law, has threatened to seal carnal mini secretariat on 7 September if the demands are not met.
Haryana Chief Bhartiya Kisan (Chaduni) head Chaduni Gurnam Singh on Monday said their demands were not met, so the big Panchayat will be held here on Tuesday, after which the farmers will continue to Gherao mini secretariat.
“Farmers will gather in New Mandi Anaj on Tuesday morning,” he said, adding they will hold peaceful protests.
Police Haryana has trained a group of farmers to disrupt traffic movements on the national highway nearby on August 28 when heading to Karnal to protest BJP meetings.
