AMBALA: The police have filed a case under costs of demanding extortion of Rs 5 lakh and corruption from naib tehsildar of Ambala Cantonment following an former Ambala Municipal Corporation councillor putting a complaint.
On the criticism of Onkar Nath Paruthi, ex-councillor of Ambala Sadar MC, an instance was registered.
Onkar Nath, who’s also a Congress leaderwho approached Haryana house and wellbeing minister Anil Vij and filed a complaint against the naib tehsildar Bodhraj.
Onkar Nath alleged,”On April 5, 2021, I’d filed an application before Ambala Cantonment naib tehsildar Bodhraj to enroll and accept an intekal, also for precisely the very same, he also demanded Rs two lakh.
I paid him Rs 1 lakh.
Now, he’s demanding Rs 5 lakh longer,” he said.
Ambala SDM Sachin Gupta explained,”The naib tehsildar was supposed to retire June 30 and he’s currently on leave because of health issued.
We’re investigating the issue.”
