Chandigarh: Under the ongoing drive against drug abuse, police Haryana on Monday claimed to have confiscated 53 kg 520 GM marijuana and 405 grams of opium during the attack in a gang hiding place in Kaithal District.
Sharing details, a police spokesman Haryana told that two people were arrested in a raid made after a tip-off.
The confiscated drugs are estimated to be RS 15 Lakh on the market.
Those who were arrested were identified as Neeraj, a citizen of Assandh in Karnal, and Jitender Kumar from Bathing Gobindarh, Fatehgarh Regency, Punjab.
Acting on the tip-off, the anti-narcotics cell team stormed the Mayapur colonial house and restored the contraband from the defendant’s ownership.
While the opium recovered from Jitender, marijuana was confiscated from the ownership of the two defendants.
The case has been registered with the Defendant based on the provisions of drug narcotics and the Psychotropic Act (NDPS).
