Gurgaon: Haryana has reduced the price of the Covid Rapid (RAT) antigen test to Rs 50, which was previously at the price of Rs 250.
The decision came with a view to encourage people to do more tests.
Meanwhile, the cost of RT (PCR) is still in RS 299 while the private lab can charge Rs 499 in the case of a sample house collection.
Orders by Rajeev Arora, ACS (Health), stated “after consideration of experts’ problems and advice, taking into account the cost of consumables and consumables and approval from leading private laboratories, the state government, in carrying out the power given under the law Epidemic disease, 1897; direct that there is no private laboratory that must charge a more than RS 50 for antigens for Covid-19 testing, including GST / TAX, if any, the costs involved in pick-up, PPE, packing, sample transportation, Documentation, and reporting, in Haryana.
“The command also directs that all laboratories that carry out covid testing must comply with guidelines and SOPs and will follow all test protocols set by ICMR and Mohfw.
“Non-compliance with this order can request a penalty under section 188 of Indian Criminal Code,” the order further declared For antigen tests.
“As for Gurgaon, the city has done 1,000 antigen tests and more than 8,000 RT tests (PCR) every day to track the earliest Covid cases and start treatments.
