Aperar: The village of Mayar from Hisar District violates the stereotype with family voluntarily put their names of princesses and daughters in laws on their homes outside their homes.
The village, now under the city limits of Hisar, has 1,500 homes and 7,000 populations.
Now, every house is identified with the help of family female members.
Progressive steps are taken under the initiative of “Laado Swabhiman UTSAV” (Festival Pride) which began by Sunil Jaglan, former Sarpanch from Bibipur Village.
Jaglan was inspired by Swamitva YOJNA which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who helped villagers get their property cards.
The “Selfie with Princess” campaign also received recognition from PM Modi.
“The work for Empowerment of Womaen is being carried out under selfies with the Foundation of the Princess and the Yindal Stainless Foundation in Maya Village.
The work has begun in ten nearby villages too.
For this, the Lado team has formed in every village,” Sunil Jaglan said.
Akshara Village Mayar said that this was a new beginning for his village which would bring positive change in mindset.
“Previously, the family name was associated with a man or sanctuary but now, girls will feel empowered,” Akshara said.
Neelam, a village resident, said it was a dream called home after the princess and daughter-in-law.
Sunil Jaglan said that the nameplate campaign will also bring change in the surrounding villages because rural women have responded positively to these changes.
Sunil Jaglan has started the campaign in 2015, and a signboard has been installed around 17,000 homes so far.
