The Government of Haryana is considering making changes to the policy to provide an occupation certificate (OC) to assess the projects, Deputy Chief of the Minister Dushyant Chautala said with the background of the vertical shadow of the living room at Chintels Paradiso in February 10.
At present, the city department and State Planning (DTCP) issues OC to developers after checking whether the building has been built in accordance with the approved layout plan and Haryana Building Code.
There is no provision to check the quality of construction at the time of administration of OC.
Chautala, who is in Manesar to inaugurate the hospital on Sunday, said the government will also take action against DTCP officials if they are found guilty of inspection.
Paradiso residents have accused them of increasing complaints with DTCP since 2018 about poor quality construction in their communities.
The structural audit of the nine paradiso towers was carried out last year and the DTCP team has shown that the problem of “the only” is the balcony ceiling.
The developer then has a cardboard under the ceiling of most balconies to maintain residents from the way of falling plaster.
It was told about the allegations of not acting by the government department, Chautala said three different institutions did a probe into the collapse.
“The investigation is underway.
After we get the details and reports out, the action will be taken against officials found responsibly,” said Deputy CM.
Chautala said the change would be announced immediately to make policies about building more stringent.
“Recently, people from Faridabad approached us with concerns over the safety of fire in buildings that had more than seven floors.
So, we made changes to the norms and authorities of local development placing the system for the safety of highrises fires,” said the leader JJP.
“The government will also tweak the norms of OC to prevent such accidents in the future,” he added, without determining what changes might occur.
A senior DTCP official agreed there was no provision to check the quality of building buildings.
When submitting OC, the developer submitted specific details about the project together with a certificate from a structural engineer.
While the DTCP should provide OC, HSVP handed the nod to drainage and other systems.
The certificate was also issued by firefighters on fire safety norms in buildings.
“After receiving the application, we examined the project and mainly examined violations in the development plan,” the official said.
