Having the right to make errors & not haunted without limits, say the request on the right to forget

New Delhi: In the indulgent hyper-visibility and digital traces, the former contestant of the reality show has raised “the right to be forgotten” and moved the Delhi High Court to remove certain videos, photos, and articles that he claimed to have “adverse effects “In his life.
Justice Rekha Palli on Thursday issued a notification that asked the Union of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Google LLC, the press of the electronic media monitoring board to respond to the petition submitted by Ashutosh Kaushik.
The court asked the authorities to submit their reply within four weeks and registered this problem to hear in December.
Kaushik petition states that people have the right to “make mistakes without being haunted by them without limits”.
It argues that “the right to be forgotten” reflects individual claims to have certain data removed so anyone can no longer track it.
It also allows someone to “silence past events” from the lives of people who no longer occur, the application adds.
According to the applicant, whenever his name is sought on the internet, photos related to news reports on alleged quarrels in a pub and traffic violations appear in various search engines, including Google.
He urged the court to eliminate all such posts, videos and photos related to him.
Traffic violations associated with him were reported in 2009 while alleged fights occurred in 2013.
Senior Advocate Arvind Nigam, representing Google, said “the right to be forgotten” has not become a law in the country.
The Kaushik petition stated that “despite achieving extraordinary success on the silver screen, the applicant must suffer from maximum psychological pain for his small actions that mistakenly committed to a decade ago”.
