Prayagraj: Observing that adults have the right to choose their spouse apart from religion that benefit from them, the High Court of Allahabad on Thursday gave protection to the interfaith couple from Gorakhpur.
In such cases, even their parents cannot object to that relationship, the court said.
The court provides protection to the partner and directs the police to ensure that the applicant does not experience harassment by the girl’s father or by others with respect to their relationship with each other.
Hearing the petition together submitted by Shifa Hasan and Hindu partners, the division bench consisting of Judge Manoj Kumar Kumar Gupta and justice Deepak Verma was observed, “When the current petition is a joint who claims to love each other and major, because That, in our opinion that is considered, no, even their parents, can object to their relationship.
