HC clears the road for evicting the Sonarwahi Village in the GOSI project

Nagpur: Even though 14 families from Sonarwahi Village in Kuhi, Nagpur Regency has received compensation to empty their property for the Gosikhurd project in 2001, they continue to live there until now.
He leads to a big delay in increasing the water level for the project because it will cause a complete immersion of villages and threats to the family’s life.
On Friday, the Nagpur bench from the Bombay High Court cleared the road by modifying the status quo and asked for the Dahuake Bala petition to empty the land and turned to the temporary facility created by the Maharashtra government in Veltanahtra.
HC has refused assistance for 13 other families of their eviction.
Only Dahuak was given the status quo on October 26 after he quoted an emergency.
HC steps have cleared the road for eviction of one of the last remaining villages since 2001 which has become a project settlement obstruction, which is expected to irrigate more than 2.5 lakh hectares in Nagpur and Bhandara.
For more than four decades, this project has been waiting for its settlement and the cost has soared multiply.
The division bench consisting of Judge Sunil Shukre and Anil Pansare directed respondents to provide all basic facilities to the affected project (PAPS) in homes built in Chirvha Village within six months.
“We have the view that in such cases, it is necessary that the public interests and individuals are greater as the applicant must be balanced, so there is no prejudice caused by one of them.
If this must be done, instead of emptying temporary assistance, this court must consider Modification of the temporary order, “the judges said while throwing Dahuake’s request.
During Tim Toi’s visit to Sonarwahi Village in September 2018, partly submerged from three sides and the only way out was through a dangerous path that was swamped in fillings.
The residents of the villagers used to park their vehicles at the nearest Zandawadi which is about 3 km in Bhiwapur and then walk for 3 km to reach their home.
At that time, villagers refused to rehabilitate in the second village by quoting a lack of facilities.
HC’s direction came after the government moved the application to raise the status quo from the Dahuake petition.
The order comes after a strong argument submitted by the additional government applicant (AGP) Deepak Thakary is needed that the reservoir stores water in full capacity in a larger public interest.
“Therefore, the storage capacity has been reduced by 205,865 cubic MM from 1146,075 cubic mm.” AGP added that a large number of farmers had a bad effect because there was no error in the government part of rehabilitating the PAPs.
“The administrator has provided a house built equipped with all the basic facilities for staying while they are in irrigation colony in Veltor Village.
After the basic facilities are finished in Chirvha Village, these PAPs can be rehabilitated there.
Applicants may not cause any obstacles, especially after all Pap lost the right to occupy the land / house after receiving compensation in 2001.
“While modifying the status of quo, HC directed the applicant to receive a temporary relocation offer and emptied the land and his house.
The land of the village of Conundrum Sonarwahi is under the Government Gosikhurd Project achieving completion with the villagers & providing compensation in 2001 due to the delay in the construction of the dam, the government did not drive them up for the past few years after the project was given national status, its work was accelerated rejected to repel land in the location of the area Returned some government movements challenging in the civil court & HC which caused further delays in the status quo grant status after Dahuake approached the emergency quoted on Friday after Govt said the public interest was greater affected
