NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Friday declined to entertain a request to control the press from’sensationalising’ the trial of wrestler and Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar in relation to the passing of a 23-year older guy, also seeking principles for reporting criminal situations, stating a PIL can’t be registered for an person who’s a”watchful individual”.
A seat of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh explained the request was registered on behalf of a”watchful man” – Kumar – asserting that press has defamed him from its own reportage of this murder situation where he’s an accused.
“you can’t record a PIL for a single person.
We find no reason to amuse lawsuit on behalf of an watchful individual,” the court stated and disposed of this plea with a law student.

On May 23, a Delhi court delivered Kumar into 6-day police custody for interrogation in connection with the killing of a fellow wrestler, stating the allegations against him are severe in nature and no one is above law.
Kumar and his partners allegedly attacked wrestler Sagar Dhankar (23) along with 2 of his buddies, Sonu and Amit Kumar, in the Chhatrasal arena here on the night of May 5 and 4.
Sagar reacted to the injuries afterwards.
Kumar was detained together with co-accused Ajay from outside Delhi’s Mundka on May 23.
The two wheeled Olympic medallist was about the run for almost 3 weeks.

” Delhi Police has lodged an FIR at the case under sections 302 (murder), 308 (culpable homicide), 365 (kidnapping), 325 (causing irreparable damage ), 323 (voluntarily causing damage ), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The FIR was also enrolled under sections 188 (disobedience to arrange by people slave ), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease), 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC and various sections of the Arms Act.
