Madurai: Madras High Court on Thursday directing an Indian Archaeological Survey (ASI) to transfer all Estampages and Tamil documents from the Circle of Epigraphy in MySuru to the Epigraphy branch in Chennai within six months.
The court also directs the state government to provide the infrastructure needed for this purpose.
The Justice Division and Kirubukan and Justice M Duraiswamy directed ASI to rename the epigraphy branch in Chennai as an epigraphic (Tamil) branch.
Judges further directed breast milk to appoint a number of epigraphies by considering the amount of inscriptions available in every language.
The court issued orders when removing the batch of petitions looking for directions to transfer all Tamil inscriptions and other ingredients from the epigraphy circle in MySuru in Karnataka to the Epigraphy branch in Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
The applicant also strives to allocate sufficient funds to digitize the inscription and appoint a number of enough epigraphies.
During the previous audience, the Petitioners claimed that most of the estrampages were not maintained properly.
It was also conveyed that most inscriptions were in Tamil and they were out of reach of researchers from Tamil Nadu.
However, the center proposed that all ETSampages in Mysuru are stored safely and pest control measures taken every week.
