HC directs the CBI to accelerate the probe into the case of ‘murder’ of the judge

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court directed the Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) quickly conducted an investigation into the murder case of Dhanbad Judge here on Thursday.
The court also directed the government to raise the security of justice officers posted in Dhanbad.

Ravi Rajan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad while hearing the petition that began Suo Motu ordered the CBI to ensure a quick investigation of the case of investigation carried out in a sealed cover.
The bench observed that the High Court would monitor the case until the investigation was concluded by the body.
The judges also said that they did not want to suppress the investigation team, but wanted an investigation to be carried out professionally to collect the accused people who killed additional district judges Dhanbad Uttam Anand.
Overcoming Advocates General Rajiv Ranjan, the court said that the government must take steps to protect the justice officers better.
Ranjan convinced the bench that the government is committed to protecting judicial officers and the right steps are being taken in this matter.
Uttam Judge Anand was walking near Randhir Verma Chowk, a luxurious area in Dhanbad on July 28 at 5 am when he was hit by an autorickshaw with a passenger sitting in front with the driver.
CCTV footage shows that motorbike riders will be behind the Autorickshaw who saw injured judges falling on the ground.
He lay on the road without supervision and then rushed to the hospital where he gave up on his wounds.
The high court immediately swung in action and treated a letter sent by Dhanbad District Judge as a written petition.
The letter was informed about the incident and how Anand was killed.
