Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court on Friday imposed a large penalty to the President of the West Benggal Board of Basics for violating the previous order in Tet-2014 to facilitate the recruitment of teachers in schools.
Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay improved the responsibility of the Bhattacharya Manik Board President and directed him to pay from his pocket Rs 20,000 to each of the 19 applicants, adding a number of Rs 3.8 lakh.
The court asked Bhattacharya to obey orders within a week, failed where the court would maintain the board function.
The applicant has moved the High Court by saying that they were rejected to mark up to six “wrong questions” set for Tet-2014 even though Judge Samapti Chatterjee ruled in 2018 that everyone who had tried “the wrong question” was given a full mark.
The court has directed the Board to issue the TET certificate for those who clean the test after that, set the interview and consider recruiting those who qualify.
Tet-2014 was held in 2015 after the petition made in the High Court pointed to a 10-12 error.
The court has referred them to the committee of experts from Visva-Bharati.
The committee argues that the six questions are “confusing and wrong”.
