Nagpur: Expel CBI for the slow rate of investigation into a veteran architect, the murder of the Nimgade Eknath, the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court on Tuesday directing it to speed up the probe.
“Because, the CBI is conducting an investigation, although at a slower speed, we have the view that the opportunity must be given to an investigation officer to resolve it to bring all the culprit in the future,” the division bench consisting of Judge Deshpande Vinay and Amir Borrow said.
Previously, the CBI investigation officer Jitendra Kachare, personally submitted a progress report in this case, according to the order 12 July July in a closed envelope.
HC then read the report and direct the registrant (Judicial) to keep them in safe custody.
He was also told not to allow anyone to read report content without HC’s approval.
Then, Mugdha Chandurkar begged CBI, pray for two months to complete the investigation.
Even the son of Nimgade Anupam, who has submitted a request to accelerate the probe to his father’s murder, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the CBI.
“In the view of the problem, we gave four weeks to investigative officers to conduct further investigations.
He was directed to submit the next investigation progress report in a closed envelope to this court,” the judges said.
The attackers shot dead senior citizens when he returned from the morning road on September 6, 2016, at Lal Imli Chowk.
A case was later registered by police teasts for murder and ARM.
