New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has formed a three-member committee under the leadership of the judge from the Supreme Court Judge Vikramjit Sen to look into the allegations by the MANICA BATRA star table tennis player from efforts to secure the match by the national coach.
Former Justice Judge Against Supreme Court A K Sikri and Arjuna Awardee and Padma Shri Winner Athlete Gurbachan Singh Randhawa will also form a part of the Committee, said Justice Rekha Palli, while dealing with the Batra Petition against the Indian table tennis federation (TTFI).
The Batra, which was abandoned from the Indian contingent for the Asian table tennis championship, has moved the court earlier this year allebting that Soumyadeep Roy’s national coach “pressed” him to “throw away the Olympic qualifying match that supported one of his own training participants.
He also claimed that TTFI did the selection process in a way that was not transparent and targeted certain individuals like himself.
Given the “serious nature of the accusation” leveled by the applicant, the judge asked the committee to conduct an investigation as soon as possible and submit his report preferably within four weeks.
“However, because this court has been directed on September 23, 2021, that the accusation leveled by the applicant must be examined by an independent body in addition to respondents No.1 (TTFI), and since the committee appointed by respondents no.2 (center) has failed to check The same thing, it is considered suitable to appoint the three members committee to examine the applicant’s complaints made to respondents No.3 (national coach) and other respondents’ officials No.1 in the correspondence dated August 14, 26 and 17 September 2021, “said the court in the order passed on November 17.
The court noted that the parties would work with the process and said that the committee would be free to adopt the subject of its own procedure to follow the principles of natural justice.
“Each of three members of the Committee, including the Chairperson, will be paid a number of RS five Lakh each – whose number will be paid by respondents No.1 Federation, as referred to in his advice by his advice.
The place for the investigation will be regulated by respondents No.1 Federation in consultation with the Chair of the Committee, and expenditure, along with secretarial services, if any, will also be borne by the Federation of No.1 respondents, “it was added.
In his petition, The Commonwealth Games Gold Medalion and Khel Ratna Awardee have tried to pronounce TTFI regulations that mandate mandatory presence in the national training camp for selection at international events.
The petition by batra, the top-ranked female player in the country, has confirmed that the national coach, in a clear conflict of interest, runs a private table tennis academy simultaneously and on one occasion, “pressurized the Petitioner to dispose of matches to help one of the trainees at His personal academy was eligible for the Olympics, 2020 “.
Paddler then stressed that he was targeted by the national federation because he raised complaints in court and now the international federation also treated him as accused.
On November 16, TTFI stated that the Sports Agency’s Executive Board had decided to remember the cause of the show and all the actions of the consequences of Paddler and urged the court to prove it Bonafide.
Previously, the center stated that the federation government of mandatory attending the National Camp was in the gear of sports codes and defeating merit.
TTFI has defended the rules and states that such mandates present in other sports also include heavy lifting and judo.
While remaining the rules on September 23, the court said that the mandatory presence in the National Camp was enforced “at the point when there was a complaint delayed against the national coach” and the same “did not inspire trust”.
On November 15, the court has said that it really wants players who do not need to be harassed and ask for TTFI to give a clean chit to the applicant.
Considering the investigation report carried out by the center based on its cyclist, the court has noted that there are no errors that can be associated with players.
It also pulled TTFI to “go beyond the boundary” the order that directed the investigation by the center into his business, said it “will take the insult to motu soup”.
