HC is looking for info from the ambulance drivers onstate govt, staff

Prayagraj: High Court of Allahabad on Wednesday Direct the state government to inform the steps taken to maintain the number of drivers and adequate staff in the ‘108’ and ‘102’ ambulance, which is intended to provide services for infected people Covid.
Hearing litigation of public interests (pills) submitted by Bharatiya Majdur Sangh Uttar Pradesh, a registered society, a division bench consisting of chairman of Judge Rajesh Bindes and Agrawal Piyush Justice was directed to register this case on February 14 for hearing.
According to the Petitioner, the government has bought around 4,515 ambulances to provide emergency medical transportation services at Uttar Pradesh.
To provide the smoothness of this ambulance, an agreement included between the state government and the service provider company whose purpose is to run an ambulance through centralized call centers and also provide labor, including driver and technical staff.
In that petition, it was stated that in the case of the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, there might be a need for ambulance staff for twenty-four hours and to maintain an eight-hour shift, there was a need of around 27,090 technical staff and each to run 102 and 108 ambulances every day.
However, only 6,000 drivers and technicians employed by service provider companies.
During hearing, advice for the Petitioner argue that during the second wave of pandemic, many ambulance drivers were infected and quarantined for 14 days.
If such a situation appears again the state government and service providers must ensure sufficient number of staff to ensure appropriate ambulance services in the state.
The applicant requested that every ambulance, at least three drivers and three technical staff must be appointed for their routine shift eight hours because each shift of more than eight hours will increase the risk of accidents, accidents, etc., due to overburden drivers and technical staff.
