Chennai: Pattali Makkal Katchi Leader S Ramadoss on Monday revealed shocked and disappointment at the command of Madras High Court which stated as an unconstitutional 10.5% internal reservation for Vanliyars in the most backward class quota.
In a statement, PMK leader said the termination of the Vanniyar quota by the High Court was unacceptable considering the High Court and the Supreme Court did not grow internal quota for Muslims and Arunthadiyar.
Internal quota is the result of four decades of agitation by Vanniyar Sangam, the community and loss of life.
“Quota stops are unacceptable, especially when it is believed that it will be an instrument for the progress of Vanniyars.
This is a big setback for social justice and a major setback for the development of Tamil Nadu,” said Ramadoss, added that the Chief Minister for Constitutional Court Stalin has the responsibility to restore quota Internal.
“I hope he will do it.” The AIDMK government had previously enacted law in February to provide a quota, resulting in its allies, PMK, while the DMK government in a row led by Stalin issued an order to effect implementation.
PMK leader said Lakh students have obtained a ticket after the Vanniyar quota law enacted and thousands of people joined work, but the court did not consider their welfare and future.
“Injustice has been worn to them,” said the leader, adding that beneficiaries were under extraordinary mental suffering.
The Tamil Nadu government must appeal at the Supreme Court in the war footing and protecting their social well-being and justice, he said.
Reservations in the state are being made based on the 1931 caste census and data collected by the backward class commission.
Vanniyar quota is also possible in the same line.
“The questions raised by Madras High Court are dangerous for social justice and can also damage the reservations extended to all communities.
The state government is responsible for preparing answers to all of these questions,” Ramadoss said.
He pointed to court orders that found the state government response inadequate for the seven questions.
