HC nodded for A4 size paper to apply

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Wednesday approved the use of A4 size paper printed on both sides to apply for all court benches, to save paper and clean up storage space.
The court’s decision came after litigation of public interest (pill) submitted by lawyer Ajinkya Udane, which stated in the petition that uses A4 size paper for all judicial and administrative work instead of current practice using one-sided larger sheets will save.
Paper, produce fewer tree logging and free up storage space in court.
Advocacy SR Nargolkar, who emerged for the Administration of the High Court, told the chairman of the judicial chief of Datta and Justice GS Kulkarni that notice of only using high-quality A4 size sheets printed on both sides of the court, had been issued by the Bombay of high court rules.
Nargolkar handed over that the notification has also been issued in the Gazette on July 6 “considering this notification, the applicant’s personality stands the bank,” he said.
The bench took submission on the note.
Advocacy P R Katneshwarkar, which appeared for Udane, urged the High Court to make the above notice also applies to subordinate trials in Maharashtra.
The bench, however, directed Katneshwarkar to make representation to the Registrar General of the High Court to get directions published for subordinate courts at M to allow the use of A4 size paper.
Notifications issued by the Registrar General of the Mahendra Chandwani High Court provide for the use of “superior quality A4 size paper that does not have less than 75 GSM by printing on both sides”, instead of “stupid paper” in all high court benches.
