HC orders for reception of students were stopped during Covid

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat High Court on Friday ordered reception of students stopped by college because they did not appear in the exam after the Covid-19 pandemic.
N.V justice.
Anjaran ordered the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) to give back to students.
The court observed that many students were depressed during the Covid-19 pandemic, which could not be a reason to stop them.
SVNIT has canceled Krishabh receipt, a first year student at B.Tech, who failed to appear in the exam.
The college dean has asked his parents to provide a medical certificate that supports their claims for exceptions.
Parents do provide certificates to prove that students have suffered from depression.
After this, the college has canceled the reception.
SVNIT quotes that the Institute will not recognize students who are mentally ill.
Parents then approach the Gujarat High Court.
Appearing for the applicant, the advocate of Ronit Joy handed over that students suffer from depression because of the situation.
He constantly thought of committing suicide.
For such a situation he can’t appear for the exam.
But after that, he cleared additional examinations and despite that college canceled his acceptance, advocate told the court.
The court ordered the institute to give back students in two weeks so he could continue his studies.
