HC Patna Stay Guests at Nawada Hillocks

Patna: The Patna High Court on Tuesday stayed two hills named Lomas and Yagyawaka in Nawada who had caves with prehistoric paintings on their walls.
Hillocks was believed to be the residence of the Rishis from the Ramayana era and the birthplace of Luv and Kush when Lord Ram Sita’s wife was in exile.
The division of the Chair of the Chairman of Sanjay Karol and Justice S Kumar heard pills submitted by one Vinoy Kumar Singh from Rasauli in Nawada to protect the environment and ecosystems around Hillocks having existing religious, cultural and historical interests for temples, caves and stairs that have thousands of years.
The ecosystem includes fountains that are severely damaged due to excavation.
The bench asked the state government to reply within four weeks.
The applicant has urged the High Court to order the authorities to stop mining activities permanently in the area and declare Hillocks as a protected legacy and site when entering them in the Ramayana series.
Pills said that even England in 1906 Gazettes had highlighted religious and historic interests from the hills.
The court has also been urged that the environment and the forest department is directed at attracting its permission to excavate in the area.
The court was told that rock particles from blasting caused injury to villagers nearby and influenced wildlife.
Brishketu Advice Sharan Pandey appeared for the applicant while General Assistant General Tuhin Shankar appeared for the Central and Government Advocates Raghawanand for the state government.
