Prasagraj: The High Court of Allahabad on Friday canceled the first information report (FIR) nesting against Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhar manufacturers in connection with the case registered against them for allegedly hurting religious, social and regional sentiments through the depiction of their mirzapur city in Uttar Pradesh in the web series ‘Mirzapur’.

“FIR was registered on January 17, 2021 by one Arvind Chaturvedi in Kotwali Dehat of the District Mirzapur against the makers of web Series ‘Mirzapur’ under Section 295-A (actions were deliberate and malicious, intended to simplify the feeling agam anywhere by Offensive Religion or religious beliefs) and other parts of the IPC and 67-A from the Information Technology Act.
“Even in accordance with the average made in FIR, it is just an informant who is religious, social and regional sentiments have been injured by the web series and not from any citizen class.
There are no records to show that in addition to informants, religious beliefs from each The citizen class was injured by the Mirzapur series and what to say about the same thing was done with intentional and dangerous intentions, “the court added.
Previously on January 29, 2021, the court has lived the arrest of the ‘Mirzapur’ Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar manufacturer.
However, in the same order, the court has also explained that the investigation will continue and the applicants must work together in investigations.
Appearing for the applicant, their advice argues that even if all charges in the FIR are accepted to be true, there are no cases committed against the applicant.
There is no allegation that the web series is produced with intentional or dangerous intentions to anger the feelings of religious and social Indians or to insult religious and social feelings from people from certain classes, advisors have added.
On the other hand, the state adviser has proposed that there are specific accusations that the web series hurt the social and religious feelings of the first informant.
