Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Monday said the police questioned Shaheen and high school high school students in the incitement case was a violation of the rights of children and against the laws of adolescent justice.
It asked the state government to consider issuing directions to the police throughout the country to ensure it did not happen again.
A division bench shows that the photos placed before the court from March last year showed school children (two boys and girls) were interrogated by five police personnel – four of them in full uniforms and at least two firearms.
The bench noted that the Deputy Supervisor of Basaveshwar police had not dealt with photographs in his written statement at the same time last year.
“Prima Facie is a serious case of violating the children’s rights and the provisions of the Youth Judgment Law.
We direct the country to respond by submitting a response that states on the record of what actions that have begun to police officials,” Bench said.
The court records that only police personnel can interact with children, and where a girl is involved, female personnel must be taken in.
It asked for DG and IGP to nominate higher level officers to see violations and submit response by.
September 3, before the next hearing in this case.
Acting on the complaint submitted by an activist, the police have ordered a case hasttion against the Shaheen Group of Institution on January 26 years last year on the performance of the game against CAA on January 21.
