Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Friday questioned the CBI intention in connection with his investigation into the murder of the Dhanbad Uttam Anand judge and observed that the Central Probe agent seemed to be trying to protect the case, the investigation that was being monitored by the court, Chairman of Justice Chairman Dr.
Ravi Rajan and Justice Sujit Narayan Said the chargesheet submitted by the CBI did not seem conclusive and pointed towards Anand’s murder.
After scanning through the Narco testing report from the two defendants – Lakhan Verma and Rahul Verma – Bench said the duo was aware that the man they were hit with an autorickshaw was a judge.
“When they are aware of the judge’s identity before hitting him, it can’t be a case of simple cellular theft,” the bench was observed.
The court said that when the defendant realized the identity of the judge before hitting him, it could not be a case of simple cellular theft.
In addition, the judge did not carry a cellphone but a handkerchief.
The investigation at this point seems to be lost, Bench said.
