Nagpur: Division bench from Nagpur Bench High Court Bombay on Thursday rejected the request of two brothel owners who had appealed the sealing order issued by the Nagpur Police Chief (CP) Amitesh Kumar in the past.
Kumar has sealed two brothels in the Ganga Jamuna red light area last month and served the other fifth show notice for illegal activities.
Earlier this week, MSEDC had cut off the supply to five brothels according to the norm after the police served them sealing notice.
On August 11, Kumar has closed the red light locality for every sex work after complaints from residents.
Parts of civil society have criticized the actions of the police.
