HC requested Delhi Govt Excise Policy

New Delhi: Wednesday the Delhi High Court Requesting a response from the Delhi Government in the petition that challenged the provisions in the new excise policy, claiming that he was trying to reduce the age of consumption of liquor from 25 to 21.
The Chairman of the Judge DN Patel and Jyoti Singh issued a notification and asked the Delhi Government To submit a reply to the petition which also strives to cancel the provisions in the new excise policy that there will be no circle of liquor owned by the government and only a private-owned elderly that will be available for sale alcohol.
The court registered a request to hear further on September 17.
Request by NGOs All India Bhrashtachar Virodhi Morcha said there was an opinion among many people who reduce the age of consumption of liquor would increase alcoholism and the younger generation of the public.
, which leads to the problem of other consequences and the decision to close banking the government has no public interest.
The request said the new policy stated that “the age of sales or serving liquor must be in consentance with neighboring countries”.
Advocate Vijay Sharma, who represents NGOs, claims that the Delhi government effectively tries to reduce the minimum age of liquor consumption from 25 to 21 years, as in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
At present, the minimum age of consumption of liquor in Delhi is 25 years, while 25 and 21 in neighboring countries Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
The applicant said Article 47 of the Constitution stated that the state would try to bring a prohibition of consumption of intoxicating drinks, except for medical purposes, which harmed health.
It is said that liquor consumers will also be affected because they are guaranteed about the quality of alcohol when they buy them from the government’s jelly and this guarantee will not exist if there is a personal distribution.
Some petitions have been put forward in the Delhi High Court which challenges Delhi’s 2021-22 Excise policy alleges that it is illegal, unfair, arbitrary and violating Excise Law Delhi, 2009.
The Applicant also tried to cancel e-tender 28 June government notice of Delhi , prescribe a procedure that must be followed to peach the electronic zone’s wise offer to provide 32 licenses of the relief zone of retail liquor to supply brands of Indian and foreign liquor in the national capital.
The Delhi government has stated that his new excise policy 2021-22 aims to minimize corruption and provide fair competition in the trade of liquor and that all the worries of opposing it are just fantastic.
The AAP government has said that there is a full-scale attack for this problem and that replies will be submitted to make the stand clear.
