Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Friday questioned the CBI intent in connection with his investigation in the murder of the Dhanbad Uttam Anand judge and observed that the Central Probe agent seemed to try to protect the defendant.
While hearing this case, the probe was being monitored by the court, the Chairman of the Chief Judge Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan said the ChargesHeet submitted by the CBI did not seem conclusive and pointed towards Anand’s murder.
After scanning the Narco test report from the two defendants – Lakhan Verma and Rahul Verma – Bench said the duo was aware that the man they pressed with an autorickshaw was a judge.
“When they are aware of the judge’s identity before hitting him, it can’t be a case of simple cellular theft,” the bench was observed.
Moreover, the judge did not carry a telephone but a handkerchief.
The probe at this point seems to be lost, he added.
Uttam Judge Anand was walking in the morning near Randhir Verma Chowk on July 28, 20121, at 5 am when he was beaten by an autorickshaw with a passenger sitting in front of the driver.
CCTV footage shows motorbike riders behind the Autorickshaw, who saw the judge fell to the ground.
He lay on the road without supervision and then rushed to the hospital where he gave up on an injury.
