Guwahati: The Gahati High Court on Tuesday directed the Assam government to submit a detailed affidavit within two weeks at a meeting allegedly by the State Police since May last year.
The court was hearing the petition submitted by the lawyer and the residents of Assam based in Delhi accused the meeting “fake” and demanded an independent investigation into the incident.
Advocates said, “The court ordered senior officers from the Department of Home and Politics to submit a written statement within two weeks.” In the introduction Tuesday, supporters of General Assam said the magisterial investigation was carried out in these cases.
However, Indira Jaising’s senior advocate, represented the applicant, told the court that there was no such information.
He asked the court to direct the state government to upload firs on his website.
