“We also want Minister of Irrigation Petahana Govind Karjol to point to any lake that has become because of its efforts to date,” said Congress spokesman.
Of the 26 reservoirs throughout the country, 21 was built under the Government of Congress.

“The Dam Krishnaraja Sagar was assigned by Mysuru Maharaja Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, while the remaining four reservoirs were built by the UK.
JD (s) and BJP did not contribute to the irrigation sector,” Lakshmana said, questioning Kumaraswamy’s comments on Congress every time the last criticized the BJP policy.
Lakshman said that the government led by Sidaramaiiah has prepared a detailed project report (DPR) in 2013.
“The cost of drinking water projects Mekedupatu is estimated to cost Rs 5,387 Crore.

The second proposal, at where the cost of the project was upgraded to Rs 9,500 Crore, also rejected.
The BJP-led government has increased project costs to Rs 10,500 Crore.
