HDMC poll: Aspiran starts lobbying tickets

Hubballi: With the State Election Commission announced a poll for 82 Hubballi-Dharwad wards, candidates in Congress, BJP, JD, AAP, and other parties have begun to lobby tickets.

Hubballi-Dharwad Mahanagara Zilla Congress President Altaf Hallu said that as soon as the election date was announced, hundreds of party workers and candidates came to register their nomination.

On several wards, there are three to five candidates and in some there are 10 to 12 candidates, he said.

Hubballi-Dharwad President BJP Central Santosk Chavan said that more than eight to 10 candidates approached him for tickets at 25 ward central constituencies.
“Our senior leaders, former Main Minister of Jagadish Shattar, Minister of Union Pralhad Joshi and the others will finish tickets after discussing with the party’s office carriers,” he said.
This time, JD also tried to provide a difficult battle and announce candidates in all wards, therefore, many have begun to lobby tickets and parties waiting for prospective tickets from other parties to join.
The Aam Addi party is said to have received many applications from aspirants.
While the candidates for several wards had been completed, it had not been done for other wards.
Aimim Dharwad District Unit President Najeer Honyal said that many people approached a ticket because this was the first time the party fought for the election of the local body.
“We will complete candidates based on their popularity and care for the community,” he said.
