New Delhi: For almost eight months and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan have not received a courtesy call from US President Joe Biden.
When asked about no phone calls from Biden during the CNN interview, Pakistani PM replied: “He is a busy man.” “But our relationship with the US does not only depend on phone calls, it must be a multidimensional relationship,” Khan added.
However, placing responsibility for the US President without telephone exchange between the two leaders, Imran said Biden had to be asked “Why is he too busy to call.” Meanwhile, Khan also commented on the “terrible” relationship with the United States who had become a disaster for Pakistan and how he was now seeking a more pragmatic approach in dealing with new Afghan leaders.
“We (Pakistan) like a rented gun,” Khan said.
“We should make them (US) win the war in Afghanistan, which we never can.” Khan said he repeatedly warned US officials that America could not achieve its goals in a military, and will be “trapped there.” He said the US should have tried political settlement with the Taliban from “power position,” at the height of his presence in Afghanistan, not because of withdrawing.
“The President of the United States has not spoken to the prime minister who is so important that according to the US itself is making-or-rest in some cases, in some cases, in Afghanistan – we struggle to understand the signal, right?” Pakistani National Security Adviser Moeed Yusuf has been Tell the Financial Times in an interview last month.
“If a telephone call is a concession, if the security relationship is a concession, Pakistan has an option,” added Pakistan NSA.
However, he did not describe what these choices were for Pakistan and if and when Pakistan would train “choice” for PM it did not get a courtesy call from the US President.
