Gangtok: Head of Minister Sikkim P Samang on Sunday said the education and health sector was the head of the focus area of his government.

Tamang said the government would want to provide the best health care and education to citizens with sophisticated facilities that are easily accessible even in remote areas in the state.
He said that the Covid-19 pandemic has further strengthened the state’s commitment to ensure that his citizens are safe, healthy and have the best health facilities that are easily available.
“We are determined to provide health facilities right on the doorway of rural and urban residents,” he said.
Large changes have been brought in the health sector since the establishment of our government.
More than 400 health workers, including specialist doctors, medical officers and non-technical employees have been recruited.
He said that the cancer hospital in Karfectar, South Sikkim was being considered with PPP mode.
Dialysis centers have been established at the Gyalshing Namchi Regency Hospital and Gangtok.
Enough ICU has been made in STNM and district hospitals.
Upscaling Namchi Hospital to 300 hospital beds with high-class modern facilities are ongoing which will serve the needs of the South and West Sikkim district.
The state government will also begin with the Ambulance Ambulance Mobile Clinic with doctors and nurses and all basic medical facilities and will go for weekly visits to all villages so that villagers do not need to come to hospitals in the district for small diseases.
The state government seeks to improve and change the education sector to ensure complete literacy and quality education for students, he said.

He said that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose University of Excellence was being established in Chakhung, West Sikkim which will involve high-class professionals, international experienced academics and recognize educational administrators.
The Sikkim University campus extension for the Masters Masters program at various Sikkim colleges has begun.
Tamang said the establishment of 32 community radio stations with the support of the Indian government to reach students, even in remote corners of the country.
The state government has passed the bill to establish a Kanchanjunga Buddha University in Pangthang by Denzong Charities Trust and open school settings and educational skills for the country in the PPP model.
Likewise, the upcoming university such as the University of Sikkim Medhavi in terms, the University of Sikkim, University of Sribadam and Sikkim Alpine, Kamrang will help in making an institutional area.
Money has been allocated for the construction of the Sikkim State University in Tarku in South Sikkim.
